Alo is a fairly new brand that has taken over as one of the most popular athletic/yoga apparel brands. As alo has also been on the rise, it has often been compared to Lululemon. Lululemon was commonly worn by students and teens, but Alo has been seen more around the halls of WHS.
The style of Alo clothing is made to have a more relaxed fit, which is a trending style right now compared to Lululemon where its clothing is made to have a more form-fitting style that is more common for intense workouts.
While Alo’s casual vibe is drawing more students in, there are still students that prefer Lululemon.
A junior at Waterford High School Zoey Cone says, “I personally like Lululemon better than Alo. Yes, Alo is starting to be more trendy now and is around the same price as Lululemon. I overall think Lululemon is better because of the quality of their clothing. I also think they have a lot more fun colors and things to choose from, while Alo is more neutral, which you can get from Lululemon anyways.”
A junior from Waterford High School, Ava Waddington, says, “ I really like the clothes from Alo because not only is there so much to choose from, but the clothes are all high quality and super comfortable.”
Alo and Lululemon have also become popular for boys’ clothing .
Luluemon started as a company in 1998 and started to sell men’s clothing in 2004 to appeal to a wider audience and expand from women’s yoga wear. Alo started as a company in 2007 and started to sell men’s clothing in 2015.
While girls have been wearing both for years, the boys’ clothing especially in the halls of Waterford High School has been trending much more.
A junior at Waterford High School Parker Spencer says, “I like Alo better than Lululemon because it is cheaper and more comfy.”
