When the winter seasons come to New England, Connecticut is one of the top places to have dates and hangouts for ice skating, sledding.
RoseGarden Ice Arena, located in Norwich, is a fun place to have a first date or hang out with friends during the winter seasons. The RoseGarden is an indoor ice rink, known to be one of the most popular year-round indoor ice skating rinks for Waterford High School students. It includes public skating for all ages, a large arena to skate in, and a concession stand with hot chocolate and loads of snacks! Zeb Dexter, a sophomore at Waterford said, “When I went with my friends it was really fun. It’s also a good date idea.”
Another ice skating rink that would be cute to have a date at would be Foxwoods Resort Casino outdoor ice rink. It costs $25 dollars for rentals and $20 without. Prices may vary between age and group amount. Although it may be cold while skating outside, you can rent an igloo that provides many things for your enjoyment. This includes chairs, heat, blankets and board games to rest when or after ice skating. The rink is somewhat small but a good time to hang out with your friends or significant other.
While most places in Connecticut have good places to sled, they don’t match Waterford High School’s sledding hill. In Waterford, adults and children like to enjoy sledding, snow tubing, and even skiing! Even if people don’t want to sled, many meet up to hang out there or relax while watching the kids have fun. Mia Majeski, a sophomore in Waterford says, “It’s a place where people can hangout with anyone whether it’s friends or significant others.”
In case you want to avoid people you know at school, Washington Park in Groton, CT is also a great place to sled. There’s good places to shelter yourself and your partner such as tables with coverage when you two want to take breaks.
All of these places and more can be great destinations to go to during cold seasons. They are entertaining, accessible, and a lot of fun. So, put on a hat and thick coat to go explore these amazing winter attractions with friends!
