On Wednesday, October 16th, the Spanish Honor Society hosted an after-school piñata decorating contest, where the winners received bags of candy.
Each group of students started at 2:15 pm, and had until 3:15 pm to complete their piñata. All groups started with the same round, cardboard base to decorate. The materials were provided for the students. The panel of judges for this competition were Mrs. Cote, Señora Cronin, and Madame Shae.
The winners of this competition were juniors Adyson Wiseman, Danica Agsalud, and Cara Sollima, who decorated their piñata as a purple monster. Mia Majeski, Brooklyn Hume, Evie Bellos, and Sydney Casper, earned second place with their jellyfish design. Third place was a goldfish, designed by Giann Cuadros Huarcaya, Adam Balfour, and Jayden Campisi. All of the finished designs will be on display outside of the Spanish classrooms.
“Everybody’s designs were so creative,” said junior Tori Campisi, who spectated the competition.
Furthermore, the Spanish teachers offered extra credits to their students participating in the contest for their efforts.
