All WHS students take notice: Spirit Week will be held this year from September 30th through October 4th It’s a week dedicated to demonstrating pride in our school. It’s also a lot of fun!
The week starts off on Monday with the theme of Chill or Thrill. Chill means relaxing and wearing pajamas or comfy clothes for the day. Thrill would be dressing up for a night out on the town. Fancy that!
Tuesday will be Movie Character Day. Whether you are a Star Wars fan or a Minions fanatic, get your outfit ready and come in dressed as your favorite movie character.
Wednesday is Decades Day. The ’50s, ’70s, ’80s, ‘90s, and 2000s will be honored. Do your research and find out what was the most popular style in the decade of your choosing.
On Thursday, we have Class Colors Day. Class shirts were ordered earlier in September and they are as follows: freshmen are green, sophomores are pink, juniors are red, and seniors are blue. Show your class pride and spirit by wearing your colors on Thursday.
Friday is Lancer Nation Day. Wear your school colors and participate in the pep rally that will precede our first home football game on October 4th.
Friday night is our first home game for football, it is also the homecoming game. During halftime, there will be something new: the Powderpuff football game! Join in all the fun by cheering on our Lancer football team and our Powderpuff participants.
Homecoming week ends with a homecoming dance on Saturday, October 5th. This will be held in the Lancer gym from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. The dance’s theme is Under the Sea. Get your tickets during this week at all lunch waves. Tickets are $15 in advance and $25 at the door.
This will be a fun week for all Waterford High students to join in. Have some laughs, have some fun, and be creative on each of the themed days.
