Meet Mrs. Moger
December 8, 2014
Many people have seen her in the hallways and most likely know her name is Mrs. Moger, but do you know her?
Mrs. Moger grew up on the other side of the state. She has always been very involved in volunteering and working with special needs kids; and, when she heard about Camp Harkness and all the good it did, she came to Waterford during the summer to work here.
“I came to Waterford to work at Camp Harkness and fell in love with it,” Mrs. Moger said smiling from ear to ear.
She talked about all the great memories she has from caming back every summer, as well as how she fell in love with the town. Mrs. Moger remembers falling in love with the sense of community and close-knit feeling of Waterford. That is when she decided to move here.
When she first arrived, Mrs. Moger worked at East Lyme High School. She worked there for nineteen years.
At East Lyme High School, Mrs. Moger taught AP Psych. “It was my favorite class to teach,” she said.
She also loved seeing the kids every day and really getting to know her students.
As much as she loved her job in East Lyme, when an opportunity as Assistant Principal opened up in Waterford, Mrs. Moger jumped at it: “I would not have applied if it wasn’t here. I love Waterford. It’s my home town.”
Mrs. Moger lit up as she talked about getting to work in Waterford. She explained how happy she was that her kids got to grow up here. Then she discussed how excited she was when she got the job as the Assistant Principal.
Mrs. Moger could not help but boast as she talked about working at the school. When asked how she liked it, she exclaimed, “I love it. Everyone has been so nice. It’s a special place.”
She then went on to say how as she walked down the hallways during her first days, kids she didn’t even know would wave and say hi. She continues to get to know the student body. She said she is excited to learn even more of them as the year goes on.
Mr. Hauser is excited to have her too: “I think she has been a great addition to the school.” When he was questioned about her getting the job, he replied that out of 50 applicants she was the one for the job.
When Mr. Hauser was questioned further about whether it had anything to do with her being from Waterford, he answered, “I don’t think it helped in getting the job, but I think it helps her in doing the job.”
Regardless of how she got here, everyone is glad she decided to join the high school family.
