You are a captain this season, What does that mean to you?
To me being a captain means being a leader on and off the court. I hope to lead by example and make sure my teammates can look to me when they need to.
What does being a student-athlete mean to you?
I believe being successful at school and sports is something everyone has to do. School always comes first for me.
You are a 2x-state champion, what is it like being a part of a championship team?
Being a part of a championship run is very special. It is important to take every game one at a time. When every player is working towards one common goal, your team can do something special.
How has that champion mentality been carried over to this year where you are kind of in a rebuilding year?
While we don’t have some of the players we had last year, this team can still be very successful. It is important to not look back on the past because this is a totally different team. We just try to get better every day in practice and prepare for the upcoming games.
What are your goals for this season personally and as a team?
As a team we look to take every game one at a time. Right now we are just looking to get better so we can compete with everyone in the ECC.
What are plans post high school and how has basketball helped you?
I plan to attend college for physical education. Basketball has helped me realize the importance of staying physically and mentally fit.
What is it like being a part of lancer nation?
I love the pride our school has. There is no better feeling then running out in front of a packed Lancer Nation. It is something that makes us all play better and gives us energy. I hope all sports at our school get to be a part of something like that.
What kind of legacy do you hope to leave behind when you leave WHS?
I want to be remembered as someone who was able to lead our team. I think we have a really special group of players and being named captain for them is an honor. I hope captains in the future can look back and take something from what I am doing.
