Lily Watson tried all the other sports, but swimming kept drawing her back. The senior says she loves exercise and calls the sport “addicting.” She says she has a love/hate relationship with waking up at 4 am and going to practice as a usual day consists of double practices. First she goes to high school swim practice and then she immediately goes to club practice. On Wednesdays, Lily has three swim practices, combined she swims about 3-4 hours a day. Balancing school and swim can be a challenge. Lily has learned to plan out her day, knowing every part of her schedule has allowed her to make the most of her time. 

Lily, who is swimming for the high school team for the first and last time and says that, “being part of a team, being a leader, and being the one to motivate others makes her excited to be a senior this season.”  Lily says that swimming is a mental sport as well as a physical sport. Practices can leave her tired and sore. She says that being a swimmer has taught her the value of sacrifice leading to success. Lily says, “It’s hard work, but in the end it’s worth it.”
