Which is Better? : Clyde's or Scott's?

Fall in New England is full of fun, festive things to do. One popular activity is apple picking. Clyde’s Cider Mill, located in Pawcatuck, and Scott’s Orchard in East Lyme are place to go with your friends and family to pick apples, drink pressed cider, and eat apple cider donuts.

The question comes up every year: which place is better?

Junior Clancy Susi said, “Clyde’s is better because it is older, more scenic, and the donuts are sweeter.” Susi also mentioned Clyde’s apple cider, calling it “Top notch.”

Sophomore Liam Spellman agreed with Susi, “Clydes is definitely better. Their donuts are greasy and juicy, nice and warm. The only problem with Clydes’ is that there are a lot of bees.”

Sophomore Nick Alo disagreed, “Scott’s donuts are better, they have more flavor.”

Sophomore Caroline Petchark added, “I’d have to say Scott’s because it is fun to go apple picking, I haven’t been to Clyde’s, but I have heard a lot about it though.”

Mrs. Jacaruso has never been to Clyde’s, therefore she prefers Scott’s because “It is more local, and a lot closer.”

Mrs. Woznicki said, “I like them both because I like to go to local places so I will probably go to both this year. I like both donuts as long as they’re warm.”

As for junior Gio Acevedo, who has not been to either, said he’s “Tryna’ get that sugar donut.”
