Meet the new staff
September 27, 2016
This year, freshmen are not the only newcomers, with 13 new staff members joining the school cmmunity . The 13 include: technology teachers Mr. Bono and Mr. Fomenko, art teacher Ms. Lally, physical education teacher Mr. Nolda, special ed teacher Ms. Evans, math teacher Mr. Seltzer, school psychologist Ms. Heller, and new paraprofessionals Mrs. Ferreira, Mrs. Grillo-Dow, Mr. Lineburgh, Mr. Brochu, and Ms. Carter.
Both Mr. Nolda (Class of 2005) and Ms. Lally (Class of 2000) graduated from here, and agree that many things are different since they were students.
Mr. Nolda said, “It has changed a lot since I have been here. It’s a brand new school, some faculty has changed, and advisory is now every day,but the pride and tradition of Lancer Nation is the same”.
Ms. Lally added that she believes “we use more technology than her class did, but that is also because we have more available.”
Mrs. Grillo-Dow, Mr. Fomenko, and Mr. Brochu went to other high schools in the ECC, and Mr. Seltzer attended w high school in Philadelphia.
Some other fun facts about our new teachers is that Ms. Lally is still a working artist. She painted a five-foot submarine as part of the art project to celebrate the area’s 100-year anniversary of being the Submarine Capital of the World, and it is on display at New London’s Waterfront Park for the CT Sub Trail. Mr. Nolda is a huge Buffalo Bills fan, Mr. Brochu helps coach our boys’ soccer team, and Mr. Fomenko is starting a new morning announcements format. If anyone is interested in helping, let him know.
