The Return of Y2k
While Waterford High isn't a fashion show, there is a huge variety of fashion around the school. Here are some of the unique fashion at Waterford High
The early 2000s were considered the prime time for fashion, and now it's making a comeback. Flare pants,halter tops, kitten heels, and Juicy Couture have made a comeback in 2024, sparking a wide variety of fashion trends across the school.
This year for fall spirit week, the juniors were given the 2000s fashion for decades day. A lot of the girls wore the iconic Juicy Couture tracksuit and lots of boys wore some form of jorts.
In a poll 83.3% of Waterford High Students said they owned some sort of 2000s fashion.
Junior Emma Kidd says that her favorite fashion trend from the 2000s is baggy low rise jeans and her least favorite is Juicy Couture bags. She says, “I think the 2000’s were very versatile and had many styles. However, I'm glad a lot of the ugly fashion trends from the 2000’s are left behind”
Sophomore Ailani Sanchez says that her Y2k favorite fashion trend was low rise jeans and her least favorite was parachute pants and knee high converse. She says, “Yes,I believe people are bringing it back as we speak because it's one of the best fashion decades of all time.”
Junior Josephine Stachelsky says her favorite fashion trend was mini skirts and her least favorite was skirts and dresses over jeans. She said “I love the early 2000s so much. I’m so glad we brought it back it was so cute”
