WHS Production Puffs

This February 9th through 11th, WATERFORDrama put on the play Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic. The play was loosely based on the bestselling book and film series Harry Potter but was set from an alternative perspective. Instead of following Harry Potter and the Gryffindor house (called the Braves in this work due to copyright laws), it followed the same events through the eyes of the group of students often seen as the weakest: the Hufflepuffs (or “Puffs” due to the aforementioned copyright rules). This story put a comedic twist on the eventful seven years that occurred during Harry’s tenure at Hogwarts and took a “tell it as it is” style approach instead of glorifying the book series’s main character. The play was funny, dramatic, and even a bit emotional at times. There were plenty of jokes for fans of the Harry Potter series, like Dumbledore being portrayed by two people. With stellar performances from lead actors John Morgan and Tighe Burridge as Wayne Hopkin and Oliver Rivers, and actress Ama Rosado as Megan Jones, WATERFORDrama put on an amazing show.
